Understanding the Basics of How Revelation Actually Works

The nine basic building blocks of revelation are as follows:

(1) small and simple things
(2) line upon line
(3) just need to start – it doesn’t matter where – and then the Holy Ghost can guide you (God can’t do much with a parked car)
(4) timing
(5) pattern in all things
(6) the Lord speaks to us in our own language and according to our own understanding
(7) order and wisdom in all things
(8) importance of accepting the Lord’s offering
(9) sometimes the Lord allows us to make mistakes so that we can learn through experience

God’s ways are not always our ways. We need humility and meekness.

When we feel of the Lord’s love for us, we need to recognize and remember these tender mercies. As we gather these moments, in effect, we are gathering our “rays of light” and bundling them into a single majestic “pillar of light.”

As we grow into the principles of revelation, we will experience more of our Heavenly Father’s love for us on a continual basis.
